Updated Arnie - movie classic! No reset issues.
Based on the watch I received, Seiko may have fixed the reset issue widely reported in 2023. My watch has a late 2024 build date. It's been in bright sun and has not reset.Bought this watch because it reminds me of the Seiko Sports 100 I wore in HS and college. 40 years later, this design is still attractive and easy to operate. Adding solar power eliminates the need to change the battery every year or two.Selecting and operating the various functions (display light, battery level, chronograph, alarm, digital time, 2nd time zone) is intuitive and easy to learn.

Reviving a timeless classic... Thank you Seiko!
I don't typically take the time to write a review on a product, but this is an exception. Thank you Seiko, for updating and reintroducing a timeless classic! In 1983 I received the H558 for graduation, and literally wore it everyday for close to 20 years. I went through 3 rubber wrist bands and several batteries during this time. I never really got on the "Arnie" bandwagon, because I already owned the watch before I saw it in the movies. I remember seeing it and thought, "hey, he's got MY watch!" I remember the watch being pretty expensive, up around the $500 mark. Which back then, was quite a bit of money, especially for a high school kid.I don't wear a watch as a fashion statement. To me a watch is an indispensable tool that I relied on and wore every day and night, no matter what I was doing. Rock climbing, diving, snorkeling, cave exploring, boating, biking, surveying, etc. For it's 3rd or 4th battery change (I can't remember), I sent it to Seiko to have them go through it, replace the seals and install a new battery sometime in the late 90's. I'm glad I did, because apparently they stopped making that model in 2000. Once that battery died, I retired the watch because I was tired of dealing with the battery change every 3-4 years. I opted for their dive watch with the automatic jeweled movement. I was very happy with that model for many years, but it began losing quite a bit of time, like 2-3 minutes a day. I missed the accuracy of my old watch, but didn't want to have to deal with the batteries.I discovered that Seiko brought out a new watch last year, with the same look, feel and operation as my old one... I bought it immediately! Knowing my history with the old watch, here is my take on the new one: I absolutely could not be more pleased with it. Size wise, the new watch is a small amount larger diameter than the old one. The screw down push buttons and crown are a little more obtrusive than the old one, which makes it look even bigger. However, they are very user friendly and function well. I like the screw locks on the buttons, because it protects them from being accidently pushed and changing the mode the watch is in. The LCD screen works just as well as the old one, but the new watch has a much brighter LED light in it. The functions are the same as the original, with multiple time settings, day/date, stopwatch and alarm. The new silicon band is much more comfortable and forgiving over the old band material. My wrists are kind of small, but the new watch, being even larger than the old one, wears well and is very comfortable. I think the thing that I am most excited about is the fact that it is solar powered. In the pictures (old watch on the left), you can kind of see the face of the new one being a little off black, or brownish, so that is apparently the solar panel. I find that it charges quickly, even under office lights, and has a readout that tells you the battery level. So if it is running low, go outside and do something! It has the accuracy of a fine quartz movement, without ever having to change the battery, ever again. In closing, there are many brand names with flashier watches, and more expensive automatic jeweled, solar or kinetic movements, but I consider this to be a durable "working" tool with a long heritage. Seiko is the only brand watch that I will buy, and only time will tell if this one can withstand the daily abuse I plan to put it through. But if it is anywhere near the quality of the old one, I have confidence it will last me a lifetime. Thank you Seiko!

Extremely disappointing! DO NOT PURCHASE OUTSIDE OF AN AUTHORIZED DEALER!
I purchased this watch in February earlier in 2024, and it worked fairly well up until yesterday with occasional issues such as the hands indication of time not Being indicated correctly on the screen, but a simple factory reset will fix it for a few months. As for yesterday, the watch just died completely. I left it in the sun for hours Hoping it would get charged, but it’s no more.I talked to the people at the Seiko shop in New Jersey and they said because I did not buy the watch from an authorized retailer that the warranty card is worthless. So now I ship the watch off to see how much it will cost to fix, the lady on the phone told me it would be about $200, but could be more. Lesson learned don’t buy an expensive watch on Amazon because there is no accountability.Anyone can just sell a watch and then when it comes to an issue you’re out of luck it probably would’ve been cheaper just to buy the watch at full price and have a warranty card filled out by the place that sold it to you , please do not buy from Where they are not authorized to sell watches because the warranty will be no good and you will have to pay to have it fixed, thereby making the slight discount worthless.Heed my warning, do not purchase this watch from an unauthorized dealer, such as Amazon because you will lose Should there be an issue!

Fit is smaller than you think, features are awesome! Get it!
Holy crap I love this watch! I was worried about size, it actually fits way smaller than what I expected. I have a 7.25" wrist and it fits totally normal with the rubber band. I switched to a SS bracelet and it fits smaller! I have 16 watches and this one has moved to the top 3! It could be an everyday go to for anyone. If you have a small wrist, take off the shroud and get a tapered bracelet. This is certainly an everyday wearable watch. I see why Arnie picked it over the Rolex, it fits terrific and can be considered a beater with advanced tech. Get it!Cons: the original rubber strap metal strap keeper is way too bulky (resembling his M4 handguard in Predator) & the rubber strap is too long for my wrist. I was bumping it on things during natural movements throughout the day and it was very noticeable.

Seiko SNJ025 "The Arnie" Love It!
I have been shopping for the Arnie for two years but was hesitant due to the mechanical problems reported in the 2023 models. Well during the Prime Day sales I found the Seiko SNJ025 at a great price via a partner vendor and decided to take a risk. I have had the watch for 2 months and use at least 5 out of the 7 days of the week. I am excited to report NO issues it works fine. Additionally, this watch is the most comfortable watch I have. My wrist is 8 3/4 inches but this watch wears fantastic and a joy to wear. I recommend it highly, but research before buying any pre-owned watch

Everything was great!
Everything was perfect! Got a smokin deal during spring sale on Amazon. Love the watch but disappointed it was manufactured in China.
