Interesting premise!
Much like Hiroya Oku's other works in Gantz and Inuyashiki (shamelessly plugged in this book), Gigant is very much a bizarre tale filled to the brim with fan service. The fan service at least kinda makes sense here...the main character PaPiCo is an actress in seedy field who mysteriously gains the ability to grow into a giant-sized version of herself from potential time traveler. This volume spends its time introducing the bizarre premise, the characters, vibe and setting.Overall, very interesting book. I'm a sucker for Oku's wild premises and fascinated by his out-there imagination. How do people come up with this stuff??Great art too. Definitely recommended.

Really solid beginning
Gigant is by the author who did Inuyashiki and Gants. It does contain nudity and sexual themes. Contains the first 9 chapters. What's it about? The gist of the story is about a High Schooler who happens to meet his favorite porn actress on the street and they develop an unlikely friendship. The actress, Chiho Johansson, meets a strange guy one night that inserts a device into her wrist that allows her to grow into a giantess. The mystery begins. What did I think?I really enjoyed this. If you're familiar with his previous work Gigant acts in a similar vein as Gantz, though the horniness is toned down a lot more. It seems to be a good mix between Gantz and Inyuashiki with the boobs and porn pulling you in while the characters and science fiction keeps you intrigued. The mystery that will continue throughout the series seems to be who the mysterious weirdo that gave Chiho her powers and how the world will inevitably end. No action as of yet, but you know that's around the corner. The character work is solid and I'm invested in their story and how they'll grow. The main character wants to be a film director so there are many references to the film industry. Chiho herself is directly based off Scarlet Johansson as well as references to Blomkamp and Chazelle.I'm very intrigued for future volumes and thought this was a solid start.

I really like it
I really like where the story is going. I was surprised to see that the first person to leave a review on this only put 3 stars. It’s actually very entertaining and has a great atmospheric feel to it. I love all the references hidden in the background, and the references to other manga. I did spot 2 or 3 grammar/translation mistakes but it’s not enough to bother me. I feel very optimistic for the future of this story.

Very underwhelming
I have seen all Hirota Oku work and this seems very underwhelming. I don't know this kinda felt like an Amateur's work. Nothing bizarre really happened in this volume. He mentioned his previous work in the story which was kinda funny. Hopefully, this gets betterEdit: I looked into the future and I could confidently say that it gets alot better. There's a whole bunch of randomness, sex, violence and gore.

This is amazing! NOT FOR KIDS! TRIGGER: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
I bought this on a whim. Thought the premise sounded kinda goofy, it also sounded kind of interesting. So, here I am. Let me just say, she has an enormous chest. And it gets bigger (as does her whole body). Being a victim of DV from more than one woman I was with, the abusive BF really bothered me. Hopefully he's gone for good (but I suspect not). This is definitely a very unique story. I love it. Art, unbelievable! Just fantastic. Dialogue, very very good. Characters, believable, mostly likeable, & even relatable (especially the protagonist).

Over the top doesn't just describe her chest.
This is by the same guy who gave us Gantz. That's really all I should say but I'll keep going. The story starts out odd, and just goes from there. The art is fairly realistic compared to other manga. Both in chara designs, as well as landscapes/cityscapes. This volume sets up the charas and situations, so it's a little slow going at first. My major gripe with this book is the size of this book is normal manga size. This should have been given an oversize book because the art at times literally takes up all pages. I don't recommend this for most, but if you can handle (adult content) with your story, and then oversize (adult) actress fighting giant monster things, then... sure. go for it.Also she does the ant man trick that SHOULD have been done to defeat thanos that people talked about.

Weird and sexy
Like Gantz it starts normal and then it keeps building up into the strange and different. Amazing artwork and the technique of the backgrounds, lots of pop culture references. Recommended to everyone that like H.Oyu work. Let's see where this is going.

Not too impressed yet
The weirdness in the plot happens toward the end of Vol. 1. Too far, in my opinion. If this weirdness is supposed to be the point of the story, it should have happened much earlier. It started out as a rather typical, high-school love story, but then pivoted. It should have pivoted much sooner.I hate domestic abuse and violence, so it is one aspect of the plot that I personally don't appreciate. The close-up drawings are beautiful, but when the full-body shots are drawn to fit the small frames on the pages, they are amateurish.I hope Vol. 2 gets better, but I am planning to continue reading the series.
