I am a silk artist. I have been using Robert Simmons oval mop expressions for years. They are now being discontinued. I have searched for more than a year, trying to find a replacement... and FINALLY! I have found it!They are made with 'weasel' hairs. They are sturdy, hold lots of dye when i need it, they last through the 'scrubbing' technique.without loosing to many hairs, AND without 'frizzing' at the ends......the handle has a nice weight and easy to hold. (really strong wood)They are long handled. I wish they were available in a short handle, but i am willing to cut off the ends. The price is super reasonable for such a good set of brushes.Am definitely purchasing again.... and i am looking for a wholesale source, so that i may offer them to my students.

I purchased these brushes because they have rounded heads. They distribute the paint evenly which I like the most.So far I like them the most out of all my brushes.

I bought these ,hoping they would be a quality brush.they really arent.the bristles feel more like a plastic and get clumpy and thick as you load the brush with paint.they leave big scratchy lines no matter how lightly you apply paint to your canvas They also don't clean well,even with quality brush cleaner.Save your money and put it towards a set of quality brushes.

I love a filbert brush. These are a great inexpensive brush for student work.

Great product love the handles and the performance, no shedding, just beautiful! I use for all mediums, easy clean up, keep suptle with baby oil. LOVE THEM!

I really wanted to like these brushes. The shape is good but they shed terribly that I just can't use them anymore.

The brush ends have all been crushed, causing the paint to flake off, leaving an obnoxious indentation that will make painting with them rather annoying. *sigh* Really disappointing. Without the crushed tips, I’d say these are great brushes. Was really looking forward to using them.

Good quality, great price, lovely to use.

I had these brushes for several months before I got around to using them. On the first try, with the largest brush, the bristles came out steadily, and I was spending time picking them off before the paint dried too much. I tried removing as many possible loose bristles with finger pulls, and tried the brush a second time. Same results. Deposited the brush in the garbage. Tried the next smaller size on another day, and then a smaller one... same results, loose hairs in the paint, and brushes in the garbage.I have three brushes left now, unused, that I will try on the same routine: loose hairs means in the garbage. Nothing worse than finishing a painting and seeing a loose brush hair in the paint. I don't hold much hope for the final three. You get what you pay for, but in paintings it's not worth whatever you think you save.

Though I love the shape of the brushes and the handle, I was very disappointed that the brushes shed quite a bit of hair on the initial usage, thereby sticking to the painting in clumps of 4 or 5 hairs. I felt the quality just didn't measure up and was a bit lacking in this area. A very average brush set!

Quite possibly the worst brushes I have ever purchased. If you like the look of bristles in your paintings then buy them! Do you like bristles that fall out when you clean your brushes? Then buy em!
