Superior product - Why no SOS feature?
Why would a company who makes such a superior product fail to offer a simple SOS feature? I mean this flashlight is far above other competition in ALMOST every way. The size is very compact for the "whollop" it delivers. The beam throw is comparable to many product that claim to have far higher lumen output. (Note to buyers: Always dig around to find cd rating which is rating the actual candle power of the lamp. It's 27,500cd on this Eastshine product.) It has an IPX-8 rated waterproof rating which is able to withstand a drop into 2 meters of water! I mean it is just the "bomb" of a package...So why would Eastshine fail to offer it with an SOS feature - one which almost all of their lessor competitors offer??? That's dumb, in a survivalist mindset or even for someone who has a vehicle breakdown on a dark road somewhere. If you have ever tried to tap out three long, then short, then tree long again on a tail switch flashlight, on a rainy, dark night, you'd know why this mattersAlso, Eastshine, please hire some actual English speaking person to redo your manual, which is almost unreadable as it currently stands. That's dumb, also. The only reason to write your manual in English isn't because other languages aren't quite wonderful - it's because you felt that English was more universal. I'm not a Republican so I have no dislike of you or your culture. I've been to China, and loved it. I mean, hell I don't care if you include one of those endless manuals in a bunch of languages that unfolds like a map - but I do care when the language you chose means that it is virtually unreadable. It's the 21 century, for crying out loud...write it online, if you like, for all I care. But, for God's sake, have it not only "Spell Checked" but also grammatically correct so the instructions don't need Harry Potter to wave a magic wand to make it possible to understand and use. You have a solid, quality product here. Now go the extra mile, and your customers will love you for it and not have to dock you a full point for silly mistakes like an SOS feature and a manual that can be understood.BTW, the holster that comes with the Eastshine is one of the best quality for a bundled item that I have found so far. It's not one of those that will likely fray on the sides or break after the first week. It's a toughly built, basic holster.I have one other possible concern before I sign off. To the best of my ability to judge this type of thing, the product arrive "open" when it wasn't a Warehouse purchase. I say this because there was a little tag with a comment about the product that had been attached to the housing with a plastic string (one of those that department stores use to attach the tag to the product. The plastic "string" was missing but the hole in the tag that the string runs through had been visibly torn off. Why does this matter? Sometimes, a person needs a flashlight to keep themselves safe at night. Who wants to have one that someone else had for who knows how long and may have been dropped. THIS IS WHY AMAZON HAS WAREHOUSE DEALS - not for products that are supposed to be NEW, still in the box! If you don't care, Jeff Bezos is more than happy to take your money, either way. So don't complain, and live with it.The beam throw is excellent especially for a non-adjustable flashlight. You can't narrow the beam focus, but I have always worried that the "slip" in the housing that adjustable models have to change the focus might be just another place for the light to leak after it is "worn in" in a few months - haven't you?I would have gladly have given this product a full 5 star review if not for these two, but very annoying mistakes. If anyone is looking for a quality product, this unit supplies that need - but it could be better. Eastshine, if you are listening, make your new replacement with the these problems addressed. It probably won't cost you more than maybe a dollar to do so, per unit...and, you need to do this because people might want to look at the Soonfire DS30. Virtually the same product, feature for feature, as near as I can tell and a couple of dollars cheaper. You won't get burned by buying the Eastshine. It's pretty remarkable compared to the junk that is out there through other companies. STAY AWAY FROM THE MODELS THAT ARE LIKE THE "AS SEEN ON TV" MODEL!!! (Look at them side by side. The exact same housing and features, but with only the name on the side changed. Why should the same product sell for wildly different prices just because someone knows how to write a sale's script with better photos? They are cheap for a reason. I have compared them side by side and own several. I use them for taking the dog downstairs because they are cheap. I don't take them backpacking... because they are cheap. Compare the features, and ask questions first if you are going to depend upon your flashlight when it may rally matters.Maybe I will update this review when I have the chance to dig a little deeper. Hope it was helpful. (God I hope I spelled checked this review well enough after all the crap I threw at Eastshine for their manual issues.) Peace, Be well.

COMPARED TO SIBLINGS COSTING THREE TIMES AS MUCH, THIS "FLASHGIRL" IS VERY FLASHY AND SWANKY!!!
**One Reviewer here focussed his review on presenting points to compare Eastshine to Soonfire DS30 in terms of design, specs, Quality and Light Output, and stated that they were one and the same exact flashlight. Made by the same manufacturer ,,,, Actually, they are not. Eastshine is somewhat lighter as a result of better design and alloy gauging,, and shorter as a result of better logic circuitry design. It is also of a distinctly different design form and specs altogether. ,,, It also appears to be made by the same company that manufactures the Wuben brand,, albeit,, a more sophisticated control logic and upscale rendering. Before I begin relaying my impression,,, I will just say that this Eastshine deserves an accolade for an outstanding design esthetics and full merit for ergonomics and highly organized control logic ,,,, Now, let's get down to business.Starting with the holster, ,, it is, as all free accessories, not top of the line but an excellent quality by any standard of practicality. The thump switch on this Eastshine is the perfect size, and unlike Soonfire's, it provides excellent tactile feedback as well as continuous illumination for the specific ongoing task vs Soonfire's rigid and turgid switch button. Both, however are of outstanding manufacturing quality.Eastshine Light output of 1000 lumens, appears to be in-line with all flashlights employing the Cree XP-L2 ,,, in other words, it is not some exaggerated hyperpole as we disdainfully see with the ubiquitous cheapies out there...... Let's just say that measuring it,, came very close to the published number .....The packaging is somewhat lacking the swank of Soonfire's Posh box, but this may not be as important or of significance to many buyers as it is to me. ,,,, Negligible point though,, this is just my impressionMind you, this Eastshine is almost $52.00 as a kit and $39.00 stand alone vs Soonfire price tag of $39.00 ,,, The marketing people might know more than just what the eye can see.Anodization and finishing quality is on the same standard that I have found in the like of Fenix, Olight, Nitecore and Klarus. ,,,, This is decidedly a much better value,,, in addition to being more sophisticated,,, and it offers more modern design features than all the far more expensive lights mentioned. In term of all around value and utilities, my impression is,, this Eastshine flashlight should sit on a distinctive pedestal among any flashlight eclectic collection.**
