Nakoma Rit Dye Powder-Color Remover 2oz

Did exactly what I needed it to do. Had a dress that I love(fits perfectly and it has POCKETSSSSSS) and wished it came in other colours, alas it did not. The dress came on sale so decided to buy another one and give this a go. Followed instructions to the letter, it was quite laborious stirring a big pot of boiling water, at first wasn't convinced, even at the end of the 20 mins but after rinsing etc it was very pale so went for the dye. Beyond happy with the result and may buy a couple more and treat myself to the rainbow. NB this dress is full cotton/muslin but the tread is synthetic blend but it still came out well. Picture collage is original green, Rit colour removed then Dylon Tulip Red 'machine all in one'.

Despite following the instructions carefully, and ensuring that the clothing I was trying to remove the colour from did not exceed the weight guidelines, my merino sweater (weight 250g) just turned a sludgy colour of khaki..... from an original colour of very pale grey. This then necessitated me using a 2nd sachet - this resulted in a patchy neutral colour which was still unsuitable for me to redye to my chosen colour.After using a third sachet, the wool fibres were so fragile that my merino sweater was effectively ruined!!!!!This product may work well for some types of material but I would not recommend it for use with merino wool.

I used a big pan, bought a load of water to the boil, down to simmer, chucked this stuff in, opened the windows because it doesn't smell great, and threw in a pink sock that ought to be white.I was immediately disappointed - after a minute or so it was still pink! I'd read other reviews here and half expected a failure. Then after a few more minutes the sick went completely white. Absolutely magic.I put in my white/green hoodie thinking "it's pink anyway, if I need up the green I can live with that" - after simmering away for a while it's back to its old white/green self.I'm amazed it worked to be honest, especially with the number of reviews saying it did nothing. I can only assume they didn't follow the instructions.

Rit products are generally very good and are my goto dye brand.The colour/stain remover I found didn't work as well as expected. The item I needed to remove colour and stairs from wasn't any bigger than a sock. The result looked good while in the solution turning a bleached colour fairly soon.However, once removed and washed out the colour or at least a pale version of it started to return.On the upside the detail stitching remained black unlike when I bleached a similar item, where the detail stitching faded from black to a silver/grey colour.I did however find it was good for a colour fade, I dyed an item which I decided was too coloured but after 40 minutes in the solution it faded to a more accurate colour.Though the item was freshly dyed with rit dye, colour and stain remove had minimum effect

It was super easy to use, however it only lifted my curtains slightly, my curtains are a cotton and silk blend.

I bought this dye remover after accidently turning my white clothes cream in the washing machine after forgetting to take out a yellow cloth. I followed the instructions and the product worked really well and all clothes went back to the original white.A few months later, I accidently turned white clothes to light blue in the washing machine and again I used this product. Having used it twice now, I can clearly say it is very effective to turning the clothes back to white without affecting the logo colours/design on the t shirt (if the designs are iron on). Would highly recommend.

Really disappointed that this did not work.I followed the instructions and my top is still blue
