P100 Pro Power Circuit Probe Kit - Automotive Digital Multimeter Tester, Oscilloscope, and Circuit Breaker Finder - 9-30V Electric Tester Tool for Cars and Motorcycles

As a professional automotive technician I own similar tools and use them regularly. A tool like this is extremely useful in vehicle electrical repair and diagnoses. Not only is this a digital volt meter with polarity indication, it is also able to supply power or ground to a circuit or component and test multiple components.The meter comes in a nice product descriptive box. Inside you will find a very nice semi-rigid zippered case which encases the meter and all of it's components. The unit has a very long cord (20ft I believe) and even includes an extension cord. The screen is very nice and very visible in any condition. The functions are controlled by 6 buttons, 4 in a switch cluster that is easily controlled while holding the unit and 2 above that. It also has 2 LED headlights for illuminating dark work areas. The are many pieces included for probes and harnesses for relay testing. The included user manual is very detailed and explains all functions very well.This is a well build meter with a lot of uses and packed full of function. I give it 5 stars all day long.

I have purchased a few of these units and, honestly, had very low expectations of this one... I was entirely wrong. This tool is a useful product that does a LOT of things, and does them well.Clip the alligator leads on the battery and the unit powers up. Screen is extremely bright, readable and clear. Two LED's, at the head of the unit, turn on and are bright enough to illuminate any component(s) that you may want to test with this unit.I read the manual, cover-to-cover before using the unit and thought, initially, it was going to be hard to use / configure. It was not! The interface is surprisingly easy to use and very intuitive, especially if you're somewhat comfortable with the basic tools included in this unit. I LOVE the use of the 6-button keypad on this as it just makes everything easier to use, all the way around.I compared the measurements, on this unit, to my recently calibrated lab oscilloscope and lab bench meters. The measurements were dead on accurate.In practice I used this to engage some relays for testing (component activation) and, also, tested some of the cooling fans on my truck as they stopped functioning. I was able to use the tool to find a wire that had rubbed against the frame and shorted out. The manual actually describes how to do this and the process works well.I LOVE the test lead extension, which allows me to place the "bulky" (it's not, really, only in comparison to the test lead extension) tool on a flat surface on the motor and snake the probe around some tight spots in the motor compartment. It was great for that. The two tips (one for general testing and the other to get into plugs / sockets) are both well designed and thought out.Overall, being totally honest, I had very low expectations, at the start for this product and it surprised me, in a positive way, at every turn. It's well thought out, and well adapted to test today's automobiles. One thing I didn't test is the 0-5V supply functionality - which allows me to unplug a harness and then imitate a sensor by outputting a voltage consistent with that sensor. This is low voltage and very low current testing that allows you to troubleshoot the wiring harness for shorts, and the sensor for operation. A very cool feature that I can't wait to use.SUMMARY - the tool is well thought out, screen is clear, measurements are accurate and consistent and there are a LOT of features that should assist with almost every electrical problem today's vehicles can throw at you...

This review is for the TopDiag P100 Pro Power Circuit Probe Kit Electric Tester Tool.This product includes the tool, power cables, extension cable, two probes, USB cable, a carrying case, and an instruction booklet. The instructions do a good job of explaining the tool's various functions as well as providing appropriate cautions and warnings.Overall, this tool performs as advertised: the multimeter functions (voltage, resistance, and diode check) were accurate. However, there is no ability to measure amperage. The oscilloscope appeared to work correctly, and the inclusion of a duty cycle calculation was nice. However, the tool does not seem to have the ability to "freeze" the screen so the waveform can be reviewed without holding the tool on the test point. The power supply functions also worked as advertised, and the instructions correctly advise using this function with caution to avoid damaging sensitive electrical components.It seems this tool is best used for chasing down a faulty wire harness or a bad ground. You could also use it to test various lights and other components to ensure they're working properly. The included extension cable makes this a much easier task.An area for improvement, however, is the firmware upgrade process. According to the instructions, the tool's firmware may be upgraded via the included USB cable. After attaching the USB cable to the tool and to your computer, the upgrade process is initiated by pressing "LEFT" and "OK" on the tool simultaneously. However, on my tool, this sequence did nothing. Instead, I had to go to the Settings menu and select "Firmware Upgrade." According to the screen display, the tool was looking for the firmware upgrade, but the process never progressed beyond that point. Finally, I located what appeared to be TopDiag's website online to see if I could manually download the firmware upgrade. Unfortunately, my browser warned me that the website was potentially dangerous/unsafe. I tried several different browsers but received the same warning each time.Bottom line is the tool's functions work correctly, and I think it can be a helpful tool for certain troubleshooting scenarios. However, the firmware upgrade process needs some work.

The media could not be loaded. I’m very happy with the circuit tester. It works great. It’s very easy to use and comes with easy to read instructions. It is made from good quality ABS, strong plastic. The buttons are spring loaded and feel good when you depressed then. The screen is bright and easy to read. The front of the tool has two lightbulbs on it to illuminate the work area. It comes with a bunch of attachments that are a great quality, and make connecting it to a power source very easy. I like that it comes with a length of attachment wire that is nice and long. This allows you to connect to the battery of a car and work on the tail lights if you have to. For the money, I think this is great value and I recommend it.
