Bought this just over a year ago now and it's proved to be a solid, hard-wearing device which I bought for a new kitchen knife I purchased around the same time. The shape of it means it will sit nicely in the kitchen drawer along with all the other utensils which is a big bonus. easy to hole and it's ergonomic design means that you can safely sharpen knives of a range of sizes without risking cutting yourself.Other big bonus is the three separate sharpening sections which accommodate a wide range of knife types and materials.

Does a pretty reasonable job of sharpening knives, but it’s not a miracle worker. Some blunt kitchen knives now work very well, but it didn’t managed to improve the edge on my sharp (but not as sharp as it used to be) pruning knife, and it’s also not very good at removing small notches from the blade.It would definitely be possible to get sharper edges using more specialised tools, but this does a good job of putting a edge back on something dull, and it’s extremely straightforward and quick to use which gets it major points. Also,note that it’s not suitable for serrated knives.

So if you're a lefty like me, you need to use this item right-handed, or it won't work properly!I initially thought the sharpener was defective - I was using it by holding the knife I wanted to sharpen in my left hand, and steadying the sharpener with it's handle in my right. For some reason, it doesn't work well when used that way round, and I wasn't achieving any kind of decent edge on my blade.As soon as I switched hands (holding my knife in my right hand) it worked perfectly - all my knives are now razor-sharp again.So yeah, it's a great item that works really well - it would have just been helpful if there had been something in the instructions warning us lefties to use it in the "correct" direction....

Bought this blade sharpener for use in a commercial kitchen so some of the younger chefs who always borrow my knives while I’m off can actually leave me with a sharp knife every once in a while.It’s taken a battering in the last 4 months and it’s still going strong!As far as ease of use. If these monkeys can use it and not lose a finger you’ll be fine. Definitely worth the money

Lost its Shapenning ability after a few uses

What a revelation this is! I’m sick of knives going blunt and had a traditional knife sharpening that was so hard to use I never bothered.This little beauty is so easy to use, I had a full knife set razor sharp in 5 mins and it’s a pleasure and much safer to use sharp knives - it’s now a joy to cook and this little gadget is perfect!!

Heavy duty hassle free knife sharpener.There are of course better ways to sharpen blades, but this is a decent tool. I've used it on a few blades of varying quality with great results.
