I liked this clock so much I bought a second one for our vacation home. It looks nice, is visible from a distance and keeps accurate time so far (I've had the first one running for about two weeks and it hasn't gained or lost any time yet). The second hand smoothly sweeps around the face, it does not tick like most analog clocks. Yes, it is silent. It takes just one AA battery and starts running the moment you put it in.Good value for the price.

As advertised the clock is dead quiet. The sweep second hand moves smoothly. My particular unit was losing time but the supplier agreed to replace it - good customer service.I measured the current drain to see how long an alkaline battery will last and the result is between 7 months and 11 months depending on battery manufacturer and freshness. For you techie types the current drain is 290-300 microamps and the range of capacities for an alkaline AA battery is 1800-2500 milliamp-hours.This is not a fatal shortcoming, but for comparison I have a ticking clock given to me from Japan that lasts over 4 years on a single alkaline AA.One reviewer complained that the clock face was glass. I would have thought this to be a benefit since it's less likely to scratch. Anyway I was skeptical about the face being glass since it's more expensive and has a higher risk of damage - but sure enough mine is real glass. Surprising.

Large enough to be easy to read. I like the font of the numbers which make them easy on my eyes too. Quiet as advertised. I got this clock for the grand babies room, as the ticking clock seemed to keep waking her up. Switched it out for this - no tick - clock and she stays asleep again. I will replace all my ticking clocks with this one, over time. I like having both a wall clock with hands for telling time as well as a lighted digital clock so I can see it in the dark (it also provides light at night without being overbearing). Having both methods of telling time helps kids learn to read time both ways.

I have been late twice now to appointments because this clock doesn't keep good time!! The first time it happened was right after I got it and thought maybe the battery was faulty. I changed the battery and twice since then, the clock sends about 20 minutes off and I don't realize until I look at another clock. I've reflected lower numbers in my reciew since the clock doesn't keep the correct time. It doesn't help to have a clock if it can't stay within 2 minutes of the actual time.I'm annoyed the quality isn't better than what it is....

I wanted a simple, inexpensive, easy-to-read-from-across-the-room clock for the basement and this filled the bill. After a few months, it was accidentally knocked of the wall while moving furniture. When I picked it up, I could see that one of the hands had been knocked off. I figured that probably killed it, but decided to open it and see if I could pop the hand back on. Not only could I get it back on, but it still keeps perfect time! That's pretty impressive for an inexpensive clock.

No Bells, No Whistles NO NOISE!!! I'm very very sensitive to clock noise. It can drive me INSANE. This is silent. I felt the price was really fair for what you get and it's a really classic look that can fit in with most any decor I think. I tried to take a video of it's silence but you end up hearing all the background noise of my house but trust me if you want quiet this is it!

The simple design, with black hands and large black numbers on a clean white background, ensures the clock is easy to read, even at a distance or at an angle.My work involves audio recording, so I appreciate the fact that this clock is silent. I learned the hard way that a ticking clock — that I normally don’t even notice — can be picked up by a sensitive microphone.The quality is good, and the price is reasonable. Just put in a battery and set the time. It keeps time very well, does it silently, and is easy to read from anywhere in the room. Highly recommended if you just need a simple, quiet, reliable clock.

This is a very basic wall clock at the best price I saw. The rim comes only in black, but at least that isn't going to clash with anything. So far it has been a reliable, easy-to- read clock, now hung on a wall where all I care about is functionality. And yes, it is absolutely silent. I wish I had a couple more of these for my country house where it's so quiet all you can hear is the clocks ticking.
