Also contains 4 different forms of 100mg of organic prebiotic fiber - more good diversity here too.This Ultimate Flora probiotic covers all the bases - acid resistant, right strains at right quantity in a diverse mix (diversity is good for the gut).Even the packaging is excellent: easy to read label on box and bottle, this is in a glass bottle with a simple screw on metal lid, and has a secure, tamperproof, but easy to remove safety seal over the bottle. No unneeded extra plastic wrapping - the safety seal over the bottle itself is the only thing that is needed. I find it so irritating when manufacturers wrap hard-to-remove plastic all over the bottle for no apparent reason. And so many supplements come in plastic bottles, which I hate, as I am very aware of microplastics, etc. and work hard to minimize the amount of plastic I touch each day. So, I reuse my glass supplement bottles and dump my plastic bottle supplements into the old glass bottle and stick a homemade label on it.For those of you who also like to reuse your glass bottles like I do, you know that many of the labels can be excruciating to get off of the bottles, especially the label adhesive. Bonus - not this label! Although it firmly adheres to the bottle, if you lift up a corner, you will find that this peels off super cleanly and easily.The brand of probiotic that I was getting for my father and for me was high quality, but substantially fewer CFUs than this one, and comes in a thick plastic bottle which I hate. This product has more strains of bacteria and more count than pretty much any other that I have ever seen. This was wonderful to have because I needed to repopulate my gut after completely clearing it out for my first colonoscopy in ten years! I felt like I got my digestion back to normal in record time with no bloating, cramping, or indigestion. It was great to be able to eat normally so soon after my procedure!It's obvious that this is a high quality product with an amber glass jar for maximum protection against degradation and to prevent any leaching of plastics. The price does reflect that at nearly a dollar per day. And I'm not quite sure what it is about this product that makes it targeted to men--they don't really make that clear. But if you ever need to jump start your gut biome after a complete cleanout or after a major round of antibiotics, I'm thinking that you really can't do much better than to use this to do so.

Unlike other product review types, it is difficult for the consumer to determine potency and efficacy, especially since probiotic supplements aren't a regulated drug. Nonetheless, RenewLife has been around for a long time and I have been using their 50 billion 12 strain "men's" formula for years.My gastroenterologist like to focus on CFU count rather than strain types, since he only expects a fraction of the probiotics to survive in the intestine. He suggests 50 billion or greater. The big differentiation factor with this formulation appears to be the strain count and the packaging. Most of the other lower cost formulations require or highly recommend refrigeration. This formulation clearly does not. It also is shipped in a large colored glass bottle versus the opaque plastic bottle of other formulations.The photo shows the reviewed product on the left, next to the standard Renew Life's 50 billion men's formulation.Is it worth the extra 25% cost premium for that difference? If access to refrigeration is an issue than maybe this would be beneficial. I will update this review if I find any differences between this product and Renew Life's 50 billion product.

Small, easy to swallow, no off smell or taste, decent quantity CFU, no stomach bloating, seems effective enough to contribute to overall health. About 33% costlier than some comparatives, but with a higher variety of strains, which may be more effective for some, depending on individual biochemistry.

This seems like an excellent product. The glass bottle, metal cap, well printed satin texture label with lots of relevant information and manufactured by a USA Florida based company. These all contribute to my feeling that this is a very good product by a company trying to do the right thing. The capsules are standard size with no off tastes and go down smoothly. I don't notice any negative effects after taking them. Actually, I did have substantial abdominal bloating about one week ago, and after having taken one of these capsules each day since, the bloating has mostly dissipated, and I am feeling much better. However, I am also doing a few other things that might be causing this.
