Great Size, Great Read, worth purchasing.
It’s written like a comic book but so far, it’s a great read! The size is smaller than a comic book but bigger than a book. I am very pleased with how it was packaged and would definitely say it’s worth purchasing.

Thank you
Perfect addition to my wife's Umbrella Academy collection, this was actually an amazing find since I'd been searching forever for an affordable copy. She has the violin girl in her collectors cabinet and keeps the box on her bookshelf. No damage, quickly shipped and I would definitely do it all over again.

Is this a Joke?
I'm reviewing strictly the Umbrella Academy Hardcover and figure bundle and not the series itself, or other forms of the first trade. I was excited for this item but when I finally got my hands on it, I was shocked. The figure isn't of great quality and the hardcover edition is about one fifth the size of a regular comic book. That's right, this thing is tiny. It feels like something you would get in a happy meal from a fast food restaurant. It is difficult to read and does not do the series justice. This set is really a rip-off and not worth the money.

ridiculous ripoff
a complete rip off. the book is tiny, like a 3 year olds book.how could they have guts to ask for 100.00 for such a tiny book. and a cheesy plastic ornament! im gonna try to get my money back. my 3 year old could have put this togehter, what a total rip off at 100.00 dollars, you should be ashamed!

My daughter loves it!
This was a gift for my daughter, so the review is actually for her reaction to it, as well as for the price and speed of delivery. All three points were absolutely outstanding!

A Breath Of Fresh Air
I read a comment somewhere that compared the Umbrella Academy to a cross between The Royal Tenenbaums and the X-Men. That about sums up this book really well. The characters have a history together and that history is not always pleasant. Some of the characters have unresolved conflicts and do not get along. The structure of the book involves flashbacks and timely reveals of previous events that help shed some light on current developments.Fast-paced and quirky, this book has some of the funniest lines I've ever read in a comic. The characters are interesting and not obvious rip-offs of more mainstream heroes from the BIG 2. It's creator-owned, so you know absolutely anything can happen. No editorial mandates to follow, no character untouchable. Let's not forget the ART. Gabriel Bá delivers, as usual.Only issue I have with the hardcover version is that the book is small. 13 x 9 cm. While in itself not a deal-breaker, I must admit that, had I known that before purchasing it, I probably would've gotten the softcover (which is regular size). Also, the softcover version has a bonus short story included, whereas the hardcover edition does not.Bottom line: It's a fun fun read, but that also means it's over way too quickly. Lucky for me there's a "volume 2" :-) In many ways better than most mainstream fare, the only issue I have with this book is its size and the missing bonus short story. I recommend this book in any format. 4 stars.
