Well Designed
I ordered this product to replace a failed flexible rubber battery hold-down. The design encompasses a clever molded interlock of the two sliding arms as they adjust in width. The hold-down adjusted to a perfect fit for the battery casing on my 2012 Toyota 4Runner. I was able to re-use the metal hooks and wing nuts from my previous hold-down and had a couple of rubber washers in my toolbox. You will need to order those components if you don't have them leftover from the battery hold-down that you are replacing. They are readily available on Amazon. This hold-down bar appears well-designed and we'll find out over time how durable the material is. A solid value.

Why doesn't everyone sell these?
This was just the type of strap I was looking for when our new batteries were too wide for the OEM bracket. The first product we tried damaged our Ram 2500 truck edge.A different product didn't clear the body and sat well above the top of the battery (rubbing onto the hood). Rather than settle for that we stumbled across this product and thought we'd give it a try. We were too lazy to measure and try to find a rubber bungee strap that we could adapt to fit and the price of these were just as good. These are thick enough, but not super hard and will bend just a bit to fit under the edge of the body where the battery clearance is minimal. I was doubtful that the locking slides would stay together well, but they snugged down great. They do seem a little bit short for an end to end application even though it's mentioned on the packaging (max 11" wide). We used out old hardware and didn't need any washers, although I'm sure some applications might need some replacement hardware. For the price, they're perfect!

Good intention but POOR manufacturing quality and/or design.
This defective contraption locked up immediately upon pulling it apart for fitment over the top sides of my car battery. No instructions were required to understand how to use it; but it simply jammed and would not close back up to facilitate the correct fitment of my battery. I returned it for a refund and had to pay out-of-pocket for the shipping expense even though it was not worth it. My advice to others is: Do not waste your money like I did. Spend a little more money and get a Uriah Products UV002500 Adjustable Universal Fit Battery Hold Down Crossbar, instead.UPDATE:As of three (3) weeks following my return of the defective piece of junk to this seller - which was confirmed as DELIVERED by the U.S. Postal Service within two (2) days- I have yet to receive a refund from them. I had to call Amazon Customer Service to investigate them and their reason for withholding money. Their refusal to refund was uncalled for and is more reason for anyone not to buy anything from them. And, if you do take a chance, then just be aware that you will have to pay out-of-pocket for any return of their useless junk as well.

Great confirm clearances
Overall pretty adjustable and seems to be secure. Haven’t tried it for long yet. Has two different flats to hoe down a battery so wasn’t sure what was proper to use. Clearance on one side was tight for me but made it work.

Work's like a charm!
Love it, I have this Installled on my 2012 Mazda 2 and works great. It interlocks and is very sturdy. My battery doesn't budge at all.

Only goes one way
Would do more if it expanded another inch. I used it for width direction easily but would have like to have had the option of using it across the long direction but it was an inch short. Too bad, it is a nice bracket.

Looks better than original parts! Cost is right. Two thumbs up.

Plastic
Kind of cheesy...the plastic is not very strong. It works just fine though and a lot cheaper than OEM. I would buy another if needed,
