These are kinda like a rope. You dont need a rope until you need a rope and then there is no substitute. Same with a Tide Pen. Everything is fine until you get red sauce on a white shirt. We got these as part of a Disney trip pack and never ended up using them on the trip because we sweated so much nothing was staining our clothing except salt. One got left in our car and it has been a life saver multiple times.One has been in the glove box for a year and it still works great so there is your longevity. Its about the size and thickness of a sharpie so fine in a larger purse but not something you would want in a pocket. Tis smell is pleasant but not overwhelming.The faster you can apply it the better so keeping it handy is the best way to get maximum use.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:These are the absolute best to keep in your bag, in your car. I started using these years ago when they came out in 2005. I was a flight attendant and always had at least one in my bag. They absolutely work and has gotten all the spills, splashes and would be stains removed from my clothes immediately. Sure you have a little wet area for a few but once it dries, you will never know there was anything there.
